Anita Stocker is the Director of the Geauga County Community and Economic Development Department based in Chardon, Ohio. She has spent 25 years with the Department developing new programs and approaches to both Community and Economic Development. Her Department operates among other programs, the Geauga County Revolving Loan Fund (RLF), which under her administration, has doubled its portfolio and decreased its default rate. This fund continues to be one the largest and most active CDBG RLF portfolios in the State of Ohio. Among the awards her office has received are two Ohio Governor’s awards both for creative program design.
She is a Certified Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP) and serves on the Mahoning Valley Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors (MVEDC), Geauga County Community Improvement Corporation Board of Trustees (CIC) and is the Past President of the Ohio Conference of Community Developers (OCCD). She is a graduate of Lake Erie College and prior to her current employment she worked for the Cleveland Ballet (the formative years), the Northern Ohio Opera Association (the MET years), the Cleveland Indians organization (the bag-over-the-head years) and has owned her own business for 15 years (the I-have-no-life years).
